We have been very busy over the last few weeks doing lots of work on our topic ‘Food and Growth’, have a look at some of the activities we have been taking part in.
We got a bit busy messy making Gingerbread Men
but the end results were fantastic!
The following week we read ‘The Little Red Hen’ and decided to have a go at making bread like they do in the story.
First we sieved flour, yeast and salt into a bowl,
next we added some warm water,
then we mixed the ingredients together.
Then we all enjoyed kneading the mixture to form a dough.
When it had risen we put some of the dough into a tin to make a loaf and made the rest into rolls. We were so excited to see the bread when it was finally time to come out of the oven.
The bread tasted delicious!
We also made masks and used these to act out the story of ‘The Little Red Hen’. We did some excellent performances.
Taking a bow!
